Show us your new smile!

According to the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, healthy “baby” teeth help children speak clearly, chew naturally and aid in forming a path for permanent teeth to follow.

To ensure all children start out in the right direction we offer a Complimentary Exam* to ALL children under the age of 2 years old.

This free exam includes:  preventative cleaning along with hygiene education.  Proper care and understanding of an infants mouth.  Use of fluoride and toothpaste; how to brush and floss.  The effects of oral habits, including finger and thumb sucking.  Prevention of accidents that could damage the face and teeth.  Teething and milestone of dental developement.  And understanding of the link between diet and oral health.

*one free cleaning and exam per child, additional charge for x-rays or others services, all right reserved

Frequently Asked Questions about our new smile exam

What can be done about a cut or bitten tongue, lip, or cheek?

Apply ice to the bruised area. If there is bleeding, apply firm pressure with a clean gauze or cloth. If we are in the office, you can email or text us a picture of the area so that we may evaluate the severity of the cut. If bleeding does not stop after 15 minutes or it cannot be controlled by simple pressure, take the child to the emergency room.

Is the dental sealant procedure going to hurt my kids?

Emergencies 24/7/365

Emergency care is always a priority.  We hope that your child will never experience a dental emergency, but if it happens, we want you to know what to do.  We have an on-call doctor 24 hours/seven days/week for emergency situations for patients of record.

Call Loma Linda Children’s Dental Group office immediately for any trauma to your child’s teeth or jaw.  If your child’s teeth are broken or knocked out, put them in milk or your child’s own saliva. Avoid rinsing the teeth with water or wiping/scrubbing the teeth.

In the rare event in which you do not hear from us, please call Loma Linda University School of Dentistry Pediatric Clinic at (909) 558-4689 and you will be connected to the Emergency Room where a pediatric dental resident can help.
